Weekend Trips

Hyderabad to Badrachalam

We have started on a lovely friday afternoon from Hyderabad. Our aim is to reach Badrachalam by 10 p.m. Pradeep, Sridhar, Srinu, Satish and me started from begumpet in santro zing.

As expected, pradeep started getting tense about availability of accomodation in Badrachalam. It being a weekend, we are not sure of getting an accomodation at badrachalam. We have called punami guest house and were told that the guest house is full. So we have decided to stay in palvanchi that night. While we were discussing all this, we reached suryapet by 7 p.m. Had a delicious dinner and started off again.

LO, our first hurdle came. There was some noice in the car and we are unable to locate the issue. Suddenly, there was a large sound coming up. We got really scared. Call it luck or Gods grace, towards our right, we have seen a bill board on which is written the service station number of Hyundai, khammam. We have immediately called him and told him of the issue. He said, time is already 8.30 and asked us to come by 9 to khammam. We somehow managed to reach him and show him the car.

The issue is quite small. The silencer rod got loose and was dragging on the road. The engineer removed the silencer rod and wished us: Happy jounrey.

A quite satisfied team - we achived something:-)

By 10 p.m, we reached palvanch and found a hotel over there. We took some two rooms and accomodated ourselves for the night. Next day, we planned to reach badrachalam by 4 a.m.

Will continue in the next post

Srikakulam, the northern most district in the Andhra Pradesh, was a part of Visakhapatnam District till it was bifurcated in 1950. Srikakulam town, the headquarters of the district, is located on the left bank of the river Nagavali, at a distance of about 106-km from Vishakhapatnam.

Srikakulam was formerly known as Chicacole. Handloom weaving is the chief cottage industry here. Srikakulam is also famous for its muslin, the quality of which is superb. The most important places of interest in the town include a mosque known as Jumma Masjid, built by Sher Muhammad Khan, and the temple of Kotisvaraswami.
